A Mindful Smoothie

Updated: Apr 6, 2021

Hey there peeps! I want to share with you this amazing smoothie I prepare for myself every morning prior to leaving for work. This smoothie is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It add a "meal replacement" vegan protein powder because I tend to be in a rush in the morning. It's called "Raw Organic Meal" by Garden Life and you can find it at your local Sprouts.

Below are some superfoods I have been adding lately to boost my bodies defences and to elevate my frequency during these trying times! And to give it and extra punch, I add organic almond butter, because, who wouldn't!

As a base, I used blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries because they are rich in antioxidants. I freeze them so the smoothie comes out nice and cool. I add almond milk, but you can use cow's milk if that is what you like. I hope you enjoy and add a comment to share your experience!

Moringa: Is often called the drumstick tree, the miracle tree, the ben oil tree, or the horseradish tree. Moringa has been used for centuries due to its medicinal properties and health benefits. It also has anti fungal, antiviral, antidepressant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chaga Mushroom: For centuries, chaga has been used as a traditional medicine in Russia and other Northern Europeans countries, mainly to boost immunity and overall health. It has also been used to treat diabetes, certain cancers and heart disease.

Chia Seeds: Are among the healthiest foods on the planet. They're loaded with nutrients that can have important benefits for your body and brain. Aztecs ad Mayans prized them for their ability to provide sustainable energy. In fact, "chia" is the ancient Mayan word for strength.

Cacao: Is rich in antioxidants, heart-protective and anti-cancer properties, and also contain tryptophan, which is an amino acid your body uses to make serotonin, a brain chemical that helps you relax. Cacao stands out for its disease-fighting plant compounds, easily absorbed iron and relaxation-promoting tryptophan. Still, they can be high in calories, so enjoy with moderation.

Flaxseed: Is a plant-based food that provides healthful fat, antioxidants, and fibre. Some people call it a "functional food," which means that person can eat it to boost their health. Flaxseed is rich in antioxidants. These can prevent disease by removing molecules called free radicals from he body. Free radicals occur as a result of natural processes and environmental pressures. If there are too many free radicals in the body, oxidative stress can develop, leading to cell damage and disease. Antioxidants help remove free radicals from the body.
